The fastest growing vote in Whitley Bay

1. Only Alan or the Labour candidate can win in Whitley Bay

Alan has fastest growing vote and is the only alternative to Labour.

2. Alan works hard for Whitley Bay residents Alan has spent a lot of time talking to Whitley Bay residents, getting to understand their hopes and concerns – and works hard all year round on local priorities.

3. Alan is free to speak for Whitley Bay

North Tyneside is heavily Labour controlled and will continue to be Labour dominated whatever happens in May. Our local democracy suffers from a lack of constructive debate. Whitley Bay deserves an independent Green voice in the room to stand up for local issues.

4. Remember – this is NOT a National Election

The election on 4th May is a council election about local service provision. It gives you the opportunity to vote for the candidate who best represents you locally.

Message From Alan Steele

I am honoured to be your Green Party candidate for Whitley Bay. I have lived in the area for 33 years, and have found it a great place for me and my family to live. We have developed a strong, deep rooted network of friends and social contacts. I love the natural diversity of our area and the sense of community spirit that exists here.

I have had a long career locally as a Mental Health Nurse and have always seen wellbeing as central to people’s lives. I believe that people’s wellbeing stems from having comfortable, safe, secure and affordable housing; access to meaningful activity; friends and people to talk to and money to spend.

I believe we can maintain, and improve on, all that is good in our community by supporting and using the community spirit that already exists and prioritising the needs of Whitley Bay residents.

On May 5th this year, more than ever, we have a unique opportunity to elect the first green councillor to North Tyneside Council. We need a strong and independent voice to stand up for Whitley Bay and hold the Council to its promises.

With your vote, I can bring a badly-needed Green voice to the council. Please give me, and Whitley Bay, that opportunity.
