We want to give thanks to all those who used and who supported the Cycleway. We appreciate your efforts towards a greener, safer North Tyneside.
We need to continue to work to promote safe spaces for people, this will mean:
– safer streets
– less pollution
– better health
We need to promote active travel & support local communities. We need to be thinking to the future, and looking for alternatives.
We know the Cycleway was not universally loved – there are those who hold genuine concerns on traffic using residential streets as an alternative route.
These are valid concerns, but there are ways in which the Cycleway could exist without creating ‘Rat Runs’
We are committed to working with North Tyneside Council to make our Borough a safer and greener space for everyone.
